Artist Bio

Jake Dodds, is a country music singer/songwriter from Indiana. As a boy Jake always dreamed of being a country music artist. From his earliest memories he recalls singing loudly to the radio and kids on the school bus displeasure, but it was a Garth Brooks live TV special and the Double live CD he got for his birthday that made up his mind. “I’m just like everybody else in the fact that what I wanted to do or be was always something different every day and most of the time that’s still true.”  He says “but there were always a couple of dreams I came back to: sprint car driver, carnival worker, and being Garth Brooks.” “Luckily my parents wouldn’t let me join the carnival and I couldn’t afford to race!”

Jake never truly pursued music as an option, but always held onto that dream. “I guess I always thought it might just happen someone would see me in a karaoke bar and I’d get whisked away to the Grand Ole Opry and one day I just realized that wouldn’t work.”  Soon after Jake started a journey to wear he now stands. Happy, eager, and energetic to prove he has what it takes. Jake’s real world, I’ll just be me and have fun doing it approach to life is undeniable in his music and performance.

Growing up watching Saturday night Opry’s and The Statler Brothers show with his grandparents, Jake looks to blend country’s glorious past into a modern new middle class sound.  “I try to write or look for songs that talk about what I know and what I have lived. I’ve been the guy in lust for the girl in the sundress and I’ve been the guy that’s a little more serious trying to describe how that made him feel.”

Over the last 3 years Jake has made his mark. Opening for 10 national touring acts including Lee Brice, Chase Rice and Dustin Lynch. Two spots on major Indiana tour stops. Releasing his debut EP and his first single to country radio climbing as high as 108 on the Music Row Breakout Chart. Jake is currently writing, recording and playing weekends throughout a 12 state area and expanding quickly. Jake is building his brand and learning the trade the old fashioned way; On the road in the clubs. “I hope for two things when we play for crowds. Most importantly that they have fun, that’s what they came to do is let loose and have a good time. Secondly, I hope they can make a connection with my songs and whether that helps them through a bad day or just makes them laugh. That is the ultimate satisfaction.”
