Artist Bio

If one had to describe the music “genre” that defines “Jubal’s Call”, one might borrow the title of a song by Bluegrass band Balsam Range “Somewhere Between”.

The trio works under an only partly tongue-in-cheek motto:  “Country, Classic Rock and Whatever Else Comes to Mind”.   It is primarily a desire to avoid limits musically, while keeping the roots of the show in territory that is very familiar to audiences.

Pulling in tunes from both country and rock from the 70s to the present, the trio is committed to simply being musical, with attention to detail.

The dividing lines between genres have often been blurred – in the best of ways.  That cross-pollination of styles drives this trio.  Whether the melodies, rhythms and harmonies came from the rock of the 70s or country of a more recent vintage, they’ll find a way to get the spirit of familiar songs right – while throwing in a few surprises along the way.

Three part harmonies over a layer of solid musicianship are the calling card of this group.  As three accomplished musicians, two guitars and a fiddle, each takes pride in laying the harmonic and rhythmic foundation for vocals that are compelling.  All three are veterans of performing groups spanning decades.

Jubal’s Call plays because the members love good songs and they strive to play them the way they deserve to be played.  The way they deserve to be heard – by you.

But if you want to classify them, they’re ….somewhere between…Classic Rock, country and whatever else comes to mind.
